Owned by the National Trust, Rufford Old Hall is one of Lancashire's finest 16th Century Buildings and is the ideal venue for a civil wedding. The magnificent Tudor Great Hall dating from 1538 is licensed for civil marriages and partnerships. The room was previously used as a banqueting hall for the Hesketh family and it is rumoured that William Shakespeare once performed here.
The stunning grounds provide an ideal location for a marquee wedding reception.
Intimate receptions for up to 24 can be held in the restaurant, or, alternatively, drinks and canapés can be served outside in the formal gardens. You are assured of a personal and unhurried celebration as we offer only one wedding per day. On Thursdays and Fridays the property is closed to the public, allowing you exclusive access.
